Massage

The transformational power of touch therapy.

  • The transformational power of massage, or touch therapy as I like to call it, hasn’t stopped amazing me since I was introduced to Polynesian healing modality called MA-URI massage back in 2008 in Germany, where I used to live.

  • In my personal journey, working with the body and experiencing different massage therapy modalities, has greatly supported my own process of resolving past traumas. Healing trauma with a combination of body-mind techniques, rather than just addressing it through the mind, has far more potential for positive outcomes. When working with clients, I incorporate Peter’s Levine body-oriented approach to somatic healing as well as using Gerry Pyves’ Trauma Discharge Therapy technique.

  • Physical touch is fundamental to human health and if delivered in compassionate, safe, and loving ways it can be reassuring, comforting and deeply healing. Soothing and warm touch activates the body’s Vagus nerve and triggers the release of the ‘love hormone’ oxytocin, among a number of other benefits.

The massages I offer.

  • MA-URI MASSAGE

This treatment focuses on treating the body as ‘a temple of the spirit’. By using the energy of Polynesian music, dance and a long, soothing stroke-like massage technique, the intention is to cleanse and move stagnant energy to reintroduce a proper flow of energy throughout the body. It creates a new space for personal transformation, improved body image and acceptance on different levels. Read a review here.

  • LIGHT HEALING TOUCH

With the deep intention, we open to receive healing from the Source, and will incorporate breathwork, visualisation, trauma discharge techniques and intuitive guidance to facilitate space for this therapeutic treatment.

  • SWEDISH MASSAGE

One of the most common massage techniques using gentle effleurage, kneading, rolling, and tapping to bring deep relaxation. This works on body’s soft tissues and improves circulation.

  • DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE WITH GUA SHA

After warming up your muscles with vigorous movement and hot oil, we gradually address deeper layers of muscle tissues by using the Chinese massage tool: Gua Sha. In this full-body treatment I also use Myofascial release techniques to unlock muscular tension, to stretch and target fascia which, if it’s tight, can cause pain and contribute to various complications.

    60-minute treatment: £65

  • INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian Head Massage is an ancient Ayurvedic relaxation technique, focusing on shoulders, head, neck, and face. By using a variety of acupressure on your head, combined with deep tissue work on your shoulders, gentle stretching of the neck and a face massage at the end – it is a wonderfully relaxing treatment that can help with tension around the jaw, migraines, and headaches.

    30-minute treatment: £35

  • HOT STONES MASSAGE

A hot stone massage, involves hot, smooth basalt stones being placed on specific parts of the body. I use high-quality aromatherapy oils for this deeply-relaxing treatment that’s especially popular in winter when the body needs some deep warmth.

    60-minute treatment: £60

  • REMEDIAL AND SPORT MASSAGE

Remedial and sport massage techniques help to improve range of movement and postural problems. It works on releasing deeper muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Often advised as post injury treatment to help in recovery and work on scar tissues. When your body feels tense, rigid or achy, a sport massage can unlock the muscle tension. It also works skeletally to get deeper into the front of your hips, stiff spots underneath your shoulder blades or inside any other joints. In R and S massage you work together with me to push/pull, muscle strength testing, and work against resistance. It can be a full-body massage or only focused on problematic areas. An assessment is needed prior to receiving an R&S treatment.
